Republicans Outraise Democrats in Key Florida Legislative Races

Republican candidates are maintaining substantial financial advantages over their Democratic opponents in several key Florida legislative races. In Senate District 14, Josie Tomkow holds nearly $2.9 million in campaign committees, significantly outpacing Democrat Brian Nathan. Senator Jason Brodeur also maintains a strong lead in Senate District 10 with over $1.9 million available in political committees.

Fundraising gaps extend to the Florida House. In House District 45, Republican Erin Huntley has raised $239,000, while Democrat Leonard Spencer has raised $83,000. Other contested races include House District 87, featuring Republican Jon Maples and Democrat Emily Gregory, and Senate District 26, where Rick Roth faces David Silvers.

In House District 106, the race between Republican Fabian Basabe and Democrat Lucia Baez-Geller has been complicated by a July jury verdict. The court found Basabe committed sexual harassment against two male staffers, adding a legal dimension to the political contest.
