UK Defence Minister Vernon Coaker Visits Azerbaijan to Strengthen Ties
UK Defence Minister Vernon Coaker visited Azerbaijan to deepen strategic security partnerships and lead a British industry delegation at the ADEX 2026 exhibition.
UK Defence Minister Vernon Coaker visited Azerbaijan to strengthen defence ties and deepen a strategic partnership based on trust and mutual respect. During the visit, Coaker met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and government ministry representatives to discuss cooperation regarding security, innovation, and economic growth.
Coaker stated that "the partnership between the two countries was more important than ever in an increasingly uncertain and dangerous world." The visit focused on enhancing bilateral security cooperation amid current global instability.
As part of the diplomatic mission, Coaker led a delegation of 18 British companies to the sixth Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX 2026). The UK Ministry of Defence operated a dedicated pavilion at the event to showcase innovations from the British defence industry.
