Odisha CM Majhi Likens Critics to Cockroaches During Project Launch
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled ₹39,000 crore in industrial projects while accusing political opponents of attempting to create anarchy and instability in India.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled industrial projects worth over ₹39,000 crore in Kalinganagar on Wednesday. The event included the inauguration of projects totaling ₹31,607 crore and the laying of foundation stones for an additional ₹7,776 crore in investments.
During the ceremony, Majhi attacked critics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, likening them to "cockroaches" and accusing them of attempting to create anarchy and instability by turning non-issues into issues. He claimed these opponents are "busy with anti-national work" and are attempting to impede the country's progress toward a "Viksit Bharat" by prioritizing political movements over development.
These remarks follow a series of protests by the Biju Janata Dal and INDIA bloc parties concerning the MMDR Amendment Act, electoral roll irregularities, school textbook errors, and the demanded resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In response, Biju Janata Dal president Naveen Patnaik accused the BJP government of inefficiency and prioritizing party interests over the state's development, claiming that farmers, women, and the middle class are suffering. Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhakta Charan Das added that opposition parties are fighting to defend democracy.
