Lebanon Condemns Israeli Strikes as IDF Dismantles Tunnel Network

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned recent Israeli military strikes in southern Lebanon, calling the operations a "blatant violation of the ceasefire" and a breach of international law. Salam stated that the shelling and systematic destruction threaten civilian safety and damage archaeological landmarks listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

Concurrent with these accusations, the Israel Defense Forces dismantled a significant underground tunnel network beneath the Beaufort Ridge. The IDF identified the network as a command center for Hezbollah's Bader Unit and alleged that the facility was funded by Iran to facilitate attacks against northern Israel. Despite the operations, the IDF maintained it remains committed to the ceasefire agreement while continuing to remove active threats.

These escalations occur as the United States Department of State prepares to broker a new round of diplomatic talks between Israel and Lebanon. The meetings are scheduled to take place in Rome from August 4 to August 6.
