VAST Data and Nvidia Launch Agent Sandbox Foundation Stack
VAST Data and Nvidia released a new infrastructure stack to provide scalable, persistent data and governance for enterprise AI agents.
VAST Data and Nvidia launched the Agent Sandbox Foundation Stack on October 22, 2026, to provide scalable and persistent data infrastructure for enterprise AI agents. The system integrates the VAST AI Operating System with Nvidia NemoClaw and Nvidia OpenShell to decouple persistent agent state from ephemeral compute nodes.
This architecture allows thousands of AI agents and sub-agents to pause, resume, or move across infrastructure without losing progress, context, or working data. The stack is organized into three layers: dynamic agent environment infrastructure using zero-copy clones, persistent state and data services via VAST DataStore and VAST DataBase, and an observability layer for real-time visibility and auditing.
The foundation stack addresses governance and auditability needs by maintaining durable records of agent activity, including tool calls, prompts, tokens, costs, and decisions. This ensures that the actions of short-lived agents remain understandable and traceable even after the agents themselves disappear.
