Apple Invests $100 Million in U.S. iPhone Component Suppliers

Apple Inc. is partnering with Perryman Company and Qnity Electronics to secure titanium and camera components as part of a $600 billion domestic investment pledge.

Apple Inc. announced new and expanded partnerships with two U.S. companies to secure critical materials for the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. The company will commit up to $100 million over three years to the Pennsylvania-based Perryman Company for the production of grade 5 titanium. This material, which must consist of at least 80% recycled content, will be used in the enclosure of the new foldable iPhone Duo.

Simultaneously, Apple expanded its partnership with Delaware-based Qnity Electronics to manufacture advanced films for the variable-aperture camera system of the iPhone 18 Pro. These initiatives are part of the American Manufacturing Program, through which Apple has increased its domestic spending targets to $600 billion over four years to support innovation and supply chain infrastructure.

The expansion follows severe supply constraints for the iPhone Duo, with some preorder delivery estimates extending to 14 weeks. Due to these shortages, JPMorgan analysts estimate that shipments of the Duo will drop to between 8 million and 9 million units this year, down from previous projections of 10 million.
