Accenture Acquires Faculty AI for $1 Billion

Accenture plc announced an agreement on January 6, 2026, to acquire Faculty, a London-based artificial intelligence specialist, in a deal valued at $1 billion. This transaction marks the largest acquisition of a privately held British AI startup and is intended to bolster Accenture's capabilities in applied AI and AI safety for mission-critical business processes.

The acquisition integrates Faculty's team of over 400 AI professionals and adds the Faculty Frontier enterprise decision intelligence platform to Accenture's product suite. Faculty is recognized for its work with the UK National Health Service during the Covid-19 pandemic, its data analysis for the 2016 Vote Leave campaign, and its safety advisory roles for labs such as OpenAI and Anthropic.

As part of the agreement, Faculty co-founder and CEO Marc Warner will become Accenture's chief technology officer and join its Global Management Committee. Accenture has previously utilized Faculty's technology to optimize clinical trial planning for life sciences clients, including Novartis.

The deal reflects a broader industry trend of consolidation as global consultancies compete for technical talent to implement responsible AI in regulated sectors like financial services and healthcare. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
