Aldi UK Invests £300 Million to Refurbish 25 Stores

Aldi UK is investing £300 million to upgrade 25 existing stores and £370 million to open 40 new locations across the United Kingdom in 2026.

Aldi UK is investing £300 million to refurbish 25 existing stores across the United Kingdom as part of a wider improvement program. The upgrades focus on enhancing the Bakery, Health & Beauty, and fresh food sections, while introducing sustainability features such as natural refrigerants and energy-efficient fridge doors to reduce carbon emissions.

Five specific locations—Stirling, Paisley, Wollaston, Linlithgow, and Lewes—will undergo physical extensions. Other affected sites span several cities, including London, Liverpool, Aberdeen, Sunderland, and Bedford. Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate, stated that the upgrades are intended to create more space and make stores easier to shop.

This refurbishment initiative is part of a broader growth strategy for 2026. The company is simultaneously executing a separate £370 million investment plan to open approximately 40 new stores across the country.
