Oman and Myanmar Sign Bilateral Air Services Agreement

Oman and Myanmar signed an air services agreement to expand passenger and cargo connectivity and establish a regulatory framework for civil aviation.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Oman and the Department of Civil Aviation of Myanmar signed a bilateral air services agreement to strengthen cooperation in civil aviation and expand air connectivity between the two nations.

Signed by Naif Ali Al Abri of Oman and U Zaw Lin Aung of Myanmar, the deal establishes a regulatory and operational framework for both passenger and cargo transport. The agreement comprises 26 articles and an annex that specifies air routes, allowing designated national airlines to operate flights under mutually agreed terms. The partnership also enables airlines to expand code-sharing arrangements to improve operational efficiency and increase travel options.

This agreement supports a broader strategy by Oman to grow its international air transport network. The country currently maintains bilateral air transport agreements with 135 nations.
