Lime Technologies UK Profits Double to £4.7 Million

Lime Technologies, the UK arm of the ebike and scooter operator Lime, more than doubled its annual profits to £4.7 million in 2025, rising from £1.7 million the previous year. The company reported a 31% increase in average monthly users to nearly 700,000, while sales grew by a third to reach £148 million. This financial growth followed fleet expansions in London, Milton Keynes, Salford, Nottingham, and Oxford.

Despite these gains, the company faces significant criticism regarding safety and urban congestion. London boroughs have seized at least 2,000 Lime bikes this year because of pavement obstruction. Additionally, reports indicate that rental bikes are involved in nearly a third of cyclist-pedestrian collisions that require police intervention.

In response to safety concerns and reported injuries, the company introduced 1,500 smaller ebike models with repositioned batteries across England. Chief Executive Wayne Ting stated that the company is maintaining conversations with various UK municipalities to address these operational challenges.
