APC Reviews Osun Election Results Amid Rigging Allegations

The All Progressives Congress is reviewing Osun State governorship results for potential legal challenges following allegations of rigging and security withdrawals.

The All Progressives Congress is reviewing governorship election results across 332 wards in Osun State to determine if it will challenge the outcome in court. Following results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the party stated it is exploring constitutional avenues to correct anomalies observed during the electoral process. The party has urged supporters to remain calm while it consults with legal teams regarding potential appeals through the Tribunal, Appeal Court, and Supreme Court.

These developments follow accusations from former Senator Dino Melaye, who alleged that the APC and the federal government attempted to rig the election. Melaye claimed that because the Accord Party was leading in most polling units, the government planned to withdraw security operatives from polling units and collation centers to facilitate fraud. He warned that such actions would be an invitation to trouble.

In response to the post-election environment, the APC has called on the Nigeria Police Force to protect its members, alleging that party supporters are being molested by members of the ruling party.
