Israel Elwyn Prepares Voters With Disabilities for General Election
Israel Elwyn is conducting preparatory sessions and providing polling site assistance to ensure people with disabilities can participate in the October 27 general election.
The nonprofit organization Israel Elwyn is conducting preparatory sessions to help its clients participate in the general election on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The initiative specifically targets 250 members of the Elwyn Supported Living Program, offering two sessions that cover government concepts, political party platforms, and practical training using mock ballot boxes.
Racheli Kaplan, the organization's director of recreation and community services, stated that if people with disabilities are not included in the process, this will be reflected in the actual government. To ensure accessibility on Election Day, volunteers will be stationed at polling sites to provide legal assistance to voters with disabilities.
The Government of Israel maintains that all citizens, including legally incapacitated persons and wards with appointed guardians, are entitled to elect to the Knesset.
