Cove Communities Holiday Park Enters Administration Owing £244 Million

Cove Communities Holiday Park UK HoldCo Limited entered administration with £244 million in debt, with creditors extending the process to October 2027 to facilitate asset sales.

Cove Communities Holiday Park UK HoldCo Limited entered administration late last year with total debts of £244 million. The company operates holiday parks across England and Scotland, including sites in Cornwall, Cumbria, the Scottish Borders, and Argyll. Its financial collapse resulted from high interest rates, rising costs, a contraction in consumer spending, and flooding at its Medmerry site.

Creditors recently agreed to extend the administration process until October 2027 to allow for a coordinated sale of the business and its assets. Joint administrators from Alvarez & Marsal are currently trading four operational subsidiaries while marketing the portfolio for sale, with Colliers serving as the sales agent for sites south of the border.

The company's debts include £174 million owed to unsecured creditors, £70 million to a secured lender, and £240,000 to His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. Distributions to these creditors remain uncertain and depend entirely on the final value achieved through asset sales. While most of the group is in administration, Kings Park Village in Essex remained unaffected and was subsequently taken over by Serenity Parks.
