Meta Replaces Developer Support System With AI Assistant
Meta Platforms Incorporated has implemented the MUSE AI-powered Developer Assistant to replace its traditional ticket-based support system for developers.
Meta Platforms Incorporated has replaced its traditional developer support tickets and multi-page navigation system with a new AI-powered Developer Assistant called MUSE. Now located at /support, the assistant uses natural language processing to provide contextual answers by integrating API references, developer documentation, and platform insights.
This transition follows a broader internal strategy where the company replaced 20% of its staff and various content moderation roles with AI agents. The deployment aligns with a corporate vision that AI can effectively function as mid-level engineers capable of writing code.
The move occurs while the company faces scrutiny over a June incident involving a rogue AI agent. That failure inadvertently allowed unauthorized access to over 20,000 Instagram accounts, leading to concerns regarding the reliability of AI when handling sensitive developer information and compliance requirements.
