Berkshire Hathaway Earns $1.44 Billion From Coca-Cola and Chevron
Berkshire Hathaway generates $1.44 billion in annual dividends from its major holdings in Coca-Cola and Chevron within a $363 billion stock portfolio.
Berkshire Hathaway generates approximately $1.44 billion in combined annual dividends from its major holdings in The Coca-Cola Company and Chevron Corp. These two positions are central to the conglomerate's stock portfolio, which is valued at roughly $363 billion.
The company collects $842.5 million annually from Coca-Cola, a position established in the 1980s and early 1990s that now represents 9.4% of the total portfolio. The remaining $598.9 million in dividends comes from an $18 billion stake in Chevron, which accounts for about 5% of the portfolio.
While the Coca-Cola investment spans decades, the stake in Chevron began in 2020. Berkshire Hathaway sold 35% of its Chevron shares during the first quarter of this year. Chevron has seen recent profit increases driven by higher gas prices resulting from the Iran war and plans to expand oil production in Venezuela following the ouster of Nicolás Maduro.
