BMW Reveals 2027 iX3 and iX4 Neue Klasse SUVs
BMW unveiled the 2027 iX3 and iX4 electric SUVs, featuring high-performance M60 variants and a new Neue Klasse architecture.
BMW has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the reveal of the 2027 iX3 and iX4 SUVs, both built on the company's new Neue Klasse architecture. The iX3 serves as the standard electric SUV, while the iX4 is a coupe-style variant featuring a sloping roofline that improves aerodynamics to a 0.23 coefficient but reduces cargo space to 490 litres.
Both models will be produced at the Debrecen plant in Hungary. The iX4 is available in several configurations, including a 40 xDrive model priced just over £60,000 and a 50 xDrive version with a 113kWh battery. The iX4 50 produces 463 hp and starts at $66,200 in the United States.
BMW also introduced high-performance M60 xDrive flagship versions for both the iX3 and iX4. These variants deliver approximately 603 to 604 hp, enabling a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.9 seconds. The M60 models feature specialized M suspension, upgraded brakes, variable ratio steering, and an electronically controlled M Sport differential. They are equipped with a 112.2-kWh battery supporting 400 kW fast charging, which can add 184 miles of range in 10 minutes.
Interior features across the range include the Panoramic iDrive interface, Operating System X, and a 17.9-inch trapezoidal touchscreen. Production for the M60 variants is scheduled for spring 2027, with United States orders opening at the end of January.
