Birla Corporation Reports Q1 FY27 Net Profit of ₹115.73 Crore
Birla Corporation Limited reported a consolidated net profit of ₹115.73 crore for Q1 FY27, citing high fuel costs and cement pricing pressures.
Birla Corporation Limited reported a consolidated net profit of ₹115.73 crore for the first quarter of FY27 ending June 30, 2026. While this represents a 3.2% year-on-year decline, it is a sharp drop from the ₹294.77 crore profit recorded in the preceding quarter ending March 31, 2026.
Revenue from operations grew 7.8% year-on-year to ₹2,646.45 crore, and cement sales volumes increased 5% to 5.05 million tonnes. Despite these gains, rising power and fuel costs and intense market competition forced the company to roll back price hikes introduced in April and May. Consolidated profit before tax fell to ₹155.70 crore from ₹380.48 crore in the previous quarter, with earnings per share at ₹15.03.
The company's Jute division faced production drops of 27% due to record-high raw jute prices and supply disruptions. Conversely, the wholly-owned subsidiary RCCPL Private Limited saw sales growth of 26% at its Kundanganj unit and 12% at its Mukutban unit.
Birla Corporation expects cement demand to remain muted through August, with a potential recovery beginning in September. The company anticipates a more meaningful recovery in cement prices will occur during the December quarter.
