Pony AI, Nvidia, and inDrive signed an agreement to launch driverless robotaxi services in Astana, Kazakhstan, pending government approval.
The autonomous driving company Pony AI, technology giant Nvidia, and ride-hailing platform inDrive have signed a memorandum of understanding to introduce robotaxi services in Kazakhstan. The partnership focuses on evaluating the technical, regulatory, and commercial feasibility of offering driverless rides through the inDrive application, with an initial launch planned for the capital city of Astana.
Under the agreement, Pony AI will deploy its seventh-generation robotaxis, while inDrive will manage the service operations and provide the user platform. Nvidia will supply the necessary AI infrastructure, specifically the Halos safety system and the Hyperion reference platform designed for Level 4 autonomous vehicles.
This initiative marks the first entry of Pony AI into Central Asia as the company expands its global footprint beyond China, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The partners have not yet disclosed a specific launch date, the size of the vehicle fleet, or the total investment amount.
