Vivo Launches X500 Series with MediaTek 2nm Processors

Vivo launched its X500 flagship smartphone series on September 21 at an event in Shanghai, China. The lineup includes the standard X500, the X500 Pro, and the X500 Pro Max. The Pro and Pro Max models are the first globally to utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, a 2nm chipset jointly developed by Vivo and MediaTek that supports LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage. The standard X500 uses the 3nm Dimensity 9600M chip.

The X500 Pro Max serves as the top-tier model, featuring a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED panel, an 8,000mAh battery, and a 200MP Zeiss APO super-telephoto camera. The X500 Pro includes a 6.36-inch 1.5K display, a 6,510mAh battery, and a 64MP telephoto camera. The base X500 is equipped with a 7,500mAh battery. All models run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 and incorporate Zeiss imaging technology and Sony Lytia sensors.

In China, pricing starts at 5,499 yuan for the base model, with the X500 Pro Max reaching 12,999 yuan for the Creator Kit Edition. Pre-sales began on September 21, with general availability starting September 24 for the X500 and Pro Max, and September 29 for the Pro. Alongside the phones, Vivo introduced the Watch 6, featuring a titanium case and sapphire crystal. While currently exclusive to China, the series is expected to launch in Malaysia in late October 2026, though a US release remains unlikely.
