Brockville Municipal Election Nomination Deadline Passes
Two mayoral candidates and 14 council hopefuls filed nominations for the Brockville municipal election before the Friday deadline.
The nomination deadline for the Brockville municipal election passed at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026. An unofficial list of candidates shows two individuals running for mayor, Tom Linton and Councillor Cameron Wales, alongside 14 candidates competing for eight council seats.
Incumbents Louise Severson, Jane Fullarton, and Phillip Deery are among those seeking council seats. New candidates include Bruce Wylie, who plans to focus on entrepreneurship and tax spending, and Darlana Robertson, who is advocating for increased walkability and family-friendly infrastructure in the city's north end. Robertson noted that many employees at local companies like Leclerc, 3M, and Northern Cable must walk on the street because there are no sidewalks.
City Clerk Sheena Earl is now responsible for certifying the candidates. The official list of candidates is scheduled for publication by 4 p.m. on Monday.
