Keurig Dr Pepper Names Russ Torres CEO of Global Coffee Co.

Keurig Dr Pepper appointed Russ Torres to lead Global Coffee Co., a new independent entity formed following the acquisition of JDE Peet’s.

Keurig Dr Pepper has appointed Russ Torres as the CEO of its coffee division, which will transition into an independent entity called Global Coffee Co. Torres, the former president and chief operating officer of Kimberly-Clark, will officially join the company on November 3. He is tasked with leading the coffee business and integrating its operations with JDE Peet’s.

The appointment follows a period of leadership turnover for the role, which previously saw selections of CFO Sudhanshu Priyadarshi and former JDE Peet’s CEO Rafael Oliveira, who departed for Heineken. The corporate split is a result of Keurig Dr Pepper's $18 billion acquisition of JDE Peet’s last year. Global Coffee Co. is expected to generate $16 billion in annual revenue, managing brands such as Keurig, Peet’s, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.

Tim Cofer will lead the remaining beverage business once the separation is complete. Chair Pamela Patsley described Torres as a proven leader with experience building consumer brands and guiding global organizations through complex change, stating that he emerged as the clear choice following a rigorous global search.
