Tata Sons Reports 21.8 Percent Net Profit Increase for FY26
Tata Sons reported a standalone net profit of Rs 31,961 crore for FY26, driven by investment gains and growth in Tata Electronics.
Tata Sons reported a 21.8% increase in standalone net profit to Rs 31,961 crore for FY26, with total revenue rising 9.1% to Rs 42,367 crore. The profit was supported by Rs 6,531 crore in one-off gains from the sale of investments, helping offset a 10% decline in dividend income resulting from lower receipts from Tata Consultancy Services. The company board recommended a dividend of Rs 1,10,717 per ordinary share, representing a projected cash outflow of Rs 4,475 crore.
At the broader group level, aggregate revenue grew 7.8% to Rs 16.24 lakh crore, while profit after tax surged 51.9% to Rs 1.71 lakh crore. Tata Electronics emerged as the group's fourth-largest company by revenue, reaching Rs 1,31,082 crore and achieving operating breakeven within four years of its formation.
Financial performance varied across the portfolio. Air India's losses widened to Rs 22,238 crore. Chairman N Chandrasekaran attributed these losses to the AI171 crash, fuel costs, airspace closures, and foreign exchange fluctuations, though he noted the overall year remained positive in terms of financial metrics.
