Apple iPhone Keyboard Shortcuts Improve Typing and Editing Efficiency

Apple offers several underutilized keyboard shortcuts designed to increase typing efficiency and text editing precision for iPhone users. The Quickpath feature allows users to enter text by sliding a finger across the digital keyboard instead of tapping individual letters.

For more precise editing, users can transform the keyboard into a trackpad by holding the space bar, which enables free cursor movement through text. Text selection can be achieved by double-tapping a word, triple-tapping a paragraph, or using the trackpad method for higher accuracy.

Copying and pasting are supported through onscreen pop-ups or three-finger gestures, specifically a pinch to copy and a spreading gesture to paste text or photos. While these features are available across various iOS versions, performance and behavior can vary. Some selection tools function differently in the Notes app compared to chat applications like WhatsApp and iMessage, and certain shortcuts may perform more reliably on larger screens, such as those on an iPad.
