Innoviz Technologies Develops LiDAR Perception Stack for Highway Driving
Innoviz Technologies is developing a LiDAR-based perception stack for highway driving in collaboration with a top 10 global automotive manufacturer.
Innoviz Technologies is developing a LiDAR-based perception stack for highway driving in collaboration with a top 10 global automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The project aims to validate a complete perception stack for a highway operational design domain to explore potential applications for the OEM's future vehicle programs.
The system integrates InnovizTwo LiDAR and perception software running on compute hardware powered by Nvidia Corp. This "Physical AI" stack includes capabilities for point cloud processing and the detection and classification of road users such as pedestrians, cars, and trucks, as well as the ability to identify hazards like lost cargo.
CEO Omer Keilaf stated that delivering this stack to automotive-grade standards provides a precise, real-time 3D understanding of the world. He characterized the development of a complete LiDAR-based perception stack for highway driving as the clearest signal of the industry's current direction.
