Volusia County to Resend 350 Incorrect Mail-in Ballots
Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis is issuing replacement ballots after a vendor error sent incorrect city contests to 350 voters.
A vendor mailing error affected approximately 350 vote-by-mail ballots in Volusia County, Florida, ahead of the November 3 general election. The mistake resulted in some voters receiving ballots that listed contests for the wrong city.
Lisa Lewis, the Volusia County Supervisor of Elections, announced that the issue appears limited to a single mailing associated with an October 7 delivery date. Her office is currently investigating the extent of the problem. Replacement ballots are scheduled to be sent to the affected voters on Friday, October 23.
Lewis expressed frustration with the vendor, stating that voters "deserve better" and that they "should be able to rely on receiving the correct ballot." She apologized to those impacted for the frustration and concern caused by the error.
Affected voters are encouraged to contact the elections office, utilize early voting through October 31, or vote in person on Election Day.
