Behari Lal Engineering Shares Debut With 63% Premium

Behari Lal Engineering Limited debuted on the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange on August 19, 2026, with shares opening at a significant premium. The stock opened at ₹465 on the National Stock Exchange, a 63.16% increase from the ₹285 issue price, and at ₹458 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, a 60.70% premium. This performance surpassed grey market estimates, which had predicted a listing price of ₹390.
The listing followed a highly subscribed initial public offering that ran from August 12 to August 14. Demand was strongest among qualified institutional buyers and non-institutional investors, who booked their quotas approximately 165 times, while the retail segment was subscribed 53.27 times.
The company reached a market capitalization of ₹1,937.45 crore at the time of listing. Behari Lal Engineering plans to use the ₹93 crore raised from the fresh issue to repay borrowings and fund capital expenditures. These upgrades include installing new machinery and rooftop solar panels at its two existing plants in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. The company is also currently constructing a third manufacturing facility in the Fatehgarh Sahib district.
