PC Jeweller Shares Fall After SEBI Issues Warning Letters
PC Jeweller shares dropped over 4% after the Securities and Exchange Board of India issued administrative warnings to executives for database non-compliance.
Shares of PC Jeweller fell over 4% to Rs 14.83 on November 2, 2026, following regulatory action by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The market regulator issued administrative warning letters to the company's managing director, Balram Garg, and company secretary, Vijay Panwar, for failing to maintain a structured digital database of unpublished price-sensitive information (UPSI).
The warnings relate to a business update for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, which the company disclosed to stock exchanges on July 3, 2025. In a stock exchange filing, PC Jeweller acknowledged the lapse in maintaining the required database but maintained that safeguards against insider trading were active. The company stated that the trading window for designated persons and their immediate relatives remained closed from July 1, 2025, until August 3, 2025.
PC Jeweller clarified that the regulator's action is administrative and carries no financial penalty. The company asserted that the warnings will have no quantifiable monetary impact on its financial or operational activities.
