Drone Strike Kills Four in Chad Near Sudan Border

A drone strike killed four people at a market in Chad, prompting the government to close the 1,300-kilometer border with Sudan.

A drone strike of unknown origin killed four people and injured 14 others on Tuesday in the locality of Bamina, situated in the Wadi Fira province of Chad. The attack targeted a local market near the Sudanese border, and the injured were transported to the Tine Djagaraba district hospital for treatment.

Brahim Issa Galmaye, the government delegate for Wadi Fira province, visited the site to assess the damage and called for an immediate investigation to identify the source of the strike. This incident follows a previous drone attack in the same province in March that resulted in more than 20 deaths.

In response to these recurring security threats, the Government of Chad has completely closed the 1,300-kilometer border between Chad and Sudan.
