Samsung Co-Leads $231 Million Series A for Euclyd
Samsung and other investors provided $231 million to Euclyd to develop energy-efficient AI chip systems and data center infrastructure.
Samsung Electronics co-led a $231 million Series A funding round for Euclyd, a Dutch AI chip startup founded in 2024. The investment, which totaled over €200 million, also included the Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT, with additional participation from EIFO, imec.xpand, Quadri, and the Brabant Development Agency.
Based in Eindhoven, Euclyd is developing a custom silicon and memory architecture designed to reduce the energy consumption and cost of AI inference. The company's roadmap includes the Craftwerk processor and Craftwerk Station CWS, an exascale AI factory intended to provide an alternative to the graphics processing units currently dominated by Nvidia. Euclyd plans to generate revenue through hardware sales, physical rack systems for secure self-hosted inference, and intellectual property licensing.
As part of its strategic expansion, Euclyd appointed former ASML President and CEO Peter Wennink as non-executive chairman of the board. The company intends to use the new capital to grow its engineering team and accelerate its systems roadmap. Euclyd aims to begin rolling out physical chip systems in 2028, with a target of serving thousands of enterprise customers by 2030.
