Mukesh Ambani Becomes India's Richest Person After Wealth Surge
Mukesh Ambani added $6.3 billion to his fortune in one day, surpassing Gautam Adani to become the richest person in India.
Mukesh Ambani became the world's largest billionaire wealth gainer on November 2, adding $6.3 billion to his fortune in a single day. This 7.85% increase pushed the Reliance Industries Chairman to the 23rd spot on the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires list and established him as the richest person in India.
The wealth jump followed a 11.6% surge in Reliance Industries shares, marking the company's strongest trading session in over six years. The rally was triggered by September-quarter results showing a 40.6% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 25,548 crore. This growth was driven by strong refining and petrochemical margins alongside improved profitability at Jio Platforms, which reported a 16.6% rise in core earnings.
Ambani's total wealth is now estimated at $88.8 billion. He surpassed Gautam Adani, who is now ranked 26th globally with a fortune of $79.12 billion.
