Ather Energy Launches Konarc Mass-Market Electric Scooter

Ather Energy unveiled the Konarc electric scooter and EL platform in Bengaluru, targeting mainstream consumers with a family-oriented vehicle starting at Rs 99,999.

Ather Energy launched the Konarc electric scooter on August 29, 2026, during its annual Community Day in Bengaluru. Built on the new modular EL platform, the Konarc marks the company's entry into the mass-market segment, prioritizing family-oriented utility over the sportier 450 series. The scooter is available in S and Z product lines across six variants, with IDC ranges between 100 km and 200 km. Prices for the S-line start at Rs 99,999 for the 100 km model.

Technical specifications include a steel unibody, a 31-litre boot, and an Advanced Electronic Braking System. Higher variants feature a 7-inch DeepView display and front disc brakes, while the base S 100 model uses a 4.2-inch display and drum brakes. The company also introduced the fifth-generation Bedrock battery platform, featuring BreachSense technology to detect microscopic accident damage and a 10-year or 1 lakh km warranty.

Deliveries for the S 125 and S 161 variants begin in mid-September 2026, with S 100 and Z variants scheduled for 2027. Initial production will occur at a rented facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, before moving to a new plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, by November 2026. Additionally, the company launched AtherNode for charging management and Ather True Health for vehicle health scoring. In a separate corporate move, Hero MotoCorp is set to increase its stake in Ather Energy to approximately 32.8% by September 3, 2026.
