Mahindra Launches 2026 Thar OG Off-Roader

Mahindra & Mahindra launched the 2026 Thar OG, a facelifted three-door off-roader and successor to the 2020 Thar. The vehicle features introductory ex-showroom prices ranging from Rs 10.32 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh, with the starting price matching that of the outgoing model. This introductory pricing remains valid until November 30, 2026.

The SUV is built on the new M_Glyde 4G platform, which increases structural stiffness. Mechanical upgrades include a shift from hydraulic to electric power steering and the introduction of Pentalink rear suspension with Watts Link and DaVinci frequency-dependent damping technology. Power is provided by the G20 TGDi mStallion 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and D22 mHawk 2.2-litre diesel engines, both delivering up to 330 Nm of torque.

Available in AXT, LXT, and ZXT trims, the top-spec ZXT variant includes six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Off-road performance is supported by an electronic locking differential and dedicated terrain modes for mud, sand, and snow. The Thar OG competes primarily with the Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on October 11, 2026.
