Revanth Reddy Demands Bharat Ratna for Manmohan Singh

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy demanded that the Union government confer the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Speaking during the unveiling of a statue of Singh at Wipro Circle in Hyderabad on September 26, Reddy cited Singh's contributions to India's economic growth and his role in the formation of Telangana state as justification for the honor.

Reddy further urged the Union government to establish a Knowledge Centre memorial for the former Prime Minister in Delhi. To advance these requests, the Chief Minister instructed Indian National Congress MPs to raise the demand for the award within Parliament, asserting that "decisions by the Centre must be made beyond the realm of politics."
