Reliance Jio Launches Prime Membership With Price Lock

Reliance Jio reintroduced its Prime Membership programme offering subscribers a one-year price guarantee on eligible plans to counter competitor tariff shifts.

Reliance Jio reintroduced its Prime Membership programme to mark 10 years of service in India, offering nearly 500 million subscribers a price lock on eligible plans. For a one-time fee of Rs 300, members can recharge at current rates until September 5, 2027, regardless of any future tariff revisions.

The membership includes Rs 600 in cashback vouchers for new Jio SIM and JioHome or JioPC connections, priority customer support, and early access to new services. Additional digital benefits include 5,000 GB of cloud storage and access to Google Gemini Pro. The program is available to existing prepaid and postpaid users, as well as new customers porting to the network.

Simultaneously, the company enhanced its Rs 299 prepaid plan, which provides 1.5GB of daily data for 28 days, by bundling a JioHotstar subscription and the same cloud and AI benefits. This strategic expansion follows a move by competitor Bharti Airtel to discontinue several mid-range prepaid plans, including its own Rs 299 pack, to encourage users to migrate to more expensive options and increase average revenue per user.
