President Prabowo Subianto Reshuffles Cabinet and Police Leadership
President Prabowo Subianto replaced the National Police Chief and several cabinet ministers to address public scrutiny and reorganize government leadership.
President Prabowo Subianto launched a cabinet reshuffle on October 1, replacing National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo with Suyudi Ario Seto. Seto, the former head of the National Narcotics Agency, received approval for the appointment from the House of Representatives following a confirmation hearing by Commission III.
Listyo, a former aide to ex-President Joko Widodo, was reassigned as presidential chief of staff. His removal follows public scrutiny over allegations of police brutality and impunity, specifically concerning the death of delivery rider Affan Kurniawan and deadly protests in August 2025.
The reshuffle included several other high-level leadership changes. Retired general Dudung Abdurachman replaced Djamari Chaniago as the coordinating politics and security minister. Additionally, Arrmanatha Nasir replaced Sugiono as foreign minister, while Sugiono transitioned to the role of coordinating minister for human development and cultural affairs.
