China and Namibia Elevate Ties to Shared Future Community

Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the President of Namibia, visited China from July 5 to 11 to elevate bilateral relations to a "China-Namibia community with a shared future for the new era." The state visit established a framework to expand cooperation across mining, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and science and technology.

As part of this agreement, China delivered the first phase of a satellite ground data receiving and processing system in Windhoek. This technology is intended to assist Namibia with infrastructure planning, environmental monitoring, and disaster response.

The partnership focuses on transitioning the Namibian economic model away from a reliance on commodity exports. The two nations are prioritizing industrialization, manufacturing, and the development of renewable energy projects, specifically targeting green hydrogen.
