Compass Minerals Appoints Brandon Risner as Chief Operating Officer

Compass Minerals appointed Brandon Risner as its new chief operating officer on August 3, 2026. Risner succeeds Patrick Merrin, who departed the company on the same date.

Risner previously served as the vice president of operations for Ogden and commercial and industrial product lines after joining the company in December 2020. In his new role, he will oversee operations for the Salt segment alongside his existing responsibilities.

CEO Edward C. Dowling Jr. attributed the promotion to Risner's leadership within the Plant Nutrition segment and the operational improvements he implemented at Ogden.
