Coca-Cola Plans $1 Billion IPO for Indian Bottling Unit
The Coca-Cola Company plans to launch a $1 billion initial public offering for its Indian bottling unit, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, targeting a $10 billion valuation.
The Coca-Cola Company is considering filing a draft prospectus in December for an initial public offering of its Indian bottling unit, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. The company seeks a valuation of approximately $10 billion and expects to raise around $1 billion, primarily through the sale of shares by existing investors.
To manage the offering, Coca-Cola expanded its roster of investment banks to include Axis Capital Ltd. and IIFL Capital Services Ltd. These firms join Kotak Mahindra Capital Co., Citigroup Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Morgan Stanley in overseeing the deal.
The move aims to capitalize on strong investor demand in India, where IPO proceeds reached nearly $10 billion during the July-September quarter. Deliberations remain private, and the final timing, valuation, and structure of the offering are subject to change.
