Apple to Launch M6 iMac by End of 2026

Apple Inc. plans to release a refreshed 24-inch iMac featuring the M6 chipset and new color options before the end of 2026.

Apple Inc. is preparing to launch an updated 24-inch iMac featuring the M6 chipset and new color options before the end of 2026. The update is expected to debut in October or November, following a launch pattern similar to the 2024 M4 refresh. The M6 chip will be the first Mac processor based on a 2nm process, offering higher memory bandwidth, a more powerful Neural Engine, and a GPU with up to 12 cores.

To accelerate the launch of the M7 family in 2027, the company will only release a baseline version of the M6 chip, skipping Pro, Max, and Ultra variants. The hardware will maintain the existing design introduced in 2021, with no plans for a larger screen, chassis redesign, or OLED panel this year. While Samsung Display and LG Display are developing OLED panels for future models, such a version is not anticipated until around 2029.

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reports that the models are close to launch, though specific new colors and pricing remain unconfirmed. The current M4 model recently saw a price increase from $1,299 to $1,499 in June.
