Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh Hold Political Consultations to Expand Trade

Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh conducted political consultations in Bishkek to increase cooperation in pharmaceuticals, textiles, and higher education.

Delegations from Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh held the second round of political consultations in Bishkek on October 13, 2026. Led by Deputy Foreign Ministers Kairat Tursunkulov and Asad Alam Siam, the talks focused on expanding bilateral trade, investment, and industrial cooperation.

The two nations identified the textile and pharmaceutical industries as the primary sectors for growth. Beyond industrial goals, the delegations discussed the implementation of joint economic projects and the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties. A specific point of focus was the education of Bangladeshi students within Kyrgyz higher education institutions.

Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh established diplomatic relations in 1992 and are currently preparing to mark the 35th anniversary of those ties in 2027.
