Beeline Kazakhstan Launches Starlink Satellite-to-Mobile Service

Beeline Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of VEON Ltd., has launched Starlink's satellite-to-mobile service, making it the first operator in Kazakhstan to offer the technology. The service enables customers to use messaging and apps on standard smartphones in cellular dead zones, such as remote highways and mountains, without needing specialized satellite equipment.

The rollout follows a November 2025 memorandum of cooperation between Beeline Kazakhstan, Starlink, and the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, with practical trials conducted in December. The service is currently available for free and is managed through the Janymda super app.

Company leadership emphasized the service's utility for emergency services, utility workers, and travelers in regions where terrestrial infrastructure is damaged or unavailable. Kaan Terzioğlu, CEO of VEON Group, noted that for those stranded in remote areas, the technology could mean the difference between isolation and receiving help.
