Anthropic Integrates Official Voting Data Into Claude Chatbot
Anthropic is integrating official U.S. voting information and real-time election results into its Claude chatbot ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
Anthropic announced on Wednesday that its Claude chatbot will integrate official U.S. voting information and election results provided by the nonprofit Democracy Works. The update arrives ahead of the November 3 midterm elections to provide users in the United States with state-specific guidance on voter registration, polling locations, and required identification.
Claude.ai will also provide real-time official vote counts on election night and in the subsequent days. This initiative builds upon a 2024 partnership focused on preventing the misuse of artificial intelligence in political contexts. To address coordinated threats such as the creation of fake news sites, the company has deployed new detection tools and classifiers.
Anthropic reported that political queries currently account for 5.75 percent of chats in the United States, a volume the company expects to increase as the election date nears.
