Carlyle and CVC Explore €1 Billion Bauwatch Takeover
Carlyle Group and CVC Capital Partners are in discussions to jointly acquire security provider Bauwatch from Franz Haniel & Cie GmbH.
The Carlyle Group Inc. and CVC Capital Partners Plc are exploring a joint takeover of Bauwatch, a security systems provider that specializes in mobile video surveillance for the construction, property, and events sectors. The private equity consortium is currently in discussions with the company's owner, Franz Haniel & Cie GmbH, a holding company for Germany's Haniel family.
A potential deal could value Bauwatch at approximately €1 billion ($1.2 billion), though the parties have not yet reached an agreement on a final price. No final decisions have been made, and a sale is not guaranteed.
Bauwatch operates in more than 10 European countries. The company was previously acquired by Franz Haniel & Cie GmbH from Nordian Capital in 2021.
