Consultant Predicts Republican Control of Both Congressional Houses

Political consultant Terry Haines predicts a high probability, estimated between 60% and 80%, that the Republican Party will secure control of both houses of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections. He attributes this outlook to deep internal fractures within the Democratic Party, specifically a conflict between the party establishment and progressive insurgents.

Haines points to the nomination of a left-wing candidate, Flanagan, for the Minnesota Senate seat and poor progressive performance in Michigan as evidence of Democratic instability. He argues that the party is failing to present a coherent policy platform beyond its opposition to Donald Trump, which he claims is a missed opportunity to regain voter trust.

According to Haines, the Democratic Party lacks the basic competence and unity necessary to compete effectively. He specifically notes that the Democratic Socialists of America have no plan for basic governance competence, leaving the Republican Party well-positioned to seize control of the legislative branch.
