OpenAI Launches Frontier AI Models on Google Cloud

OpenAI will make its GPT-6 Astra and Codex models available through Google Cloud, completing its expansion across all three major cloud providers.

OpenAI will make its frontier artificial intelligence models, including GPT-6 Astra and the Codex coding agent, available through Google Cloud in the coming weeks. This partnership allows enterprise customers to purchase models via the Google Cloud Marketplace and apply existing cloud spending commitments to these services.

The move follows the expiration of an exclusive distribution agreement with Microsoft in April and a subsequent expansion to Amazon Web Services. By joining Google Cloud, OpenAI's technology is now available across the three largest cloud infrastructure providers, supporting a broader push to grow its enterprise business beyond its consumer origins.

Google Cloud will integrate the models into its Model Garden and Antigravity coding tool. The deal aligns with a strategy to position the platform as a neutral hub for third-party models, despite the two companies competing in search and core AI product development.
