IRGC Naval Mines Destroy Two Oil Tankers in Hormuz

The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps announced two oil tankers exploded after hitting naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz for using unauthorized routes.

The navy of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps announced that two oil tankers, including one supertanker, exploded and were stopped after hitting naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC stated the vessels had disabled their navigation and identification systems and were utilizing an unauthorized route.

One supertanker continues to burn following a massive explosion. This action follows a February 28 directive from Iran barring safe passage for vessels affiliated with the United States and Israel, a move triggered by joint strikes on Iranian territory.

IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi stated that Iranian forces are prepared to respond decisively to enemies. He cited orders from Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who instructed senior commanders that there are no geographical limitations in the war with the United States.
