Israeli Forces Kill Palestinians in Gaza Ceasefire Violations

Israeli forces killed three Palestinians and wounded at least nine others, including four children, during a series of attacks across the Gaza Strip on August 8, 2026. The Israeli military utilized shelling, drone fire, and gunfire to target civilian neighborhoods, displacement camps, and designated safe zones in Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Rafah.

In Deir al-Balah, forces killed a young man, while tanks near the al-Shakoush area southwest of Khan Younis wounded seven people, three of whom remain in critical condition. In Gaza City, gunfire in the Tuffah and Zeitoun neighborhoods wounded two children. The Ministry of Health of Gaza reported that while one person was killed in the immediate attacks, two others died from wounds sustained in previous operations. The ministry further stated that ceasefire violations have caused 1,257 deaths and 4,131 injuries since the agreement began.

United Nations agencies, including OCHA and UNRWA, stated these operations violate the ceasefire established on October 10, 2025. UN officials described the Gaza health system as "functionally collapsed" and noted that the military actions have obstructed humanitarian aid. Amid these escalations, Israeli security officials are discussing limited withdrawals from parts of Gaza to allow for the entry of a multinational force that may include soldiers from Morocco and Uganda.
