Kuwait and Qatar Condemn Coordinated Iranian Attacks Across Gulf

The governments of Kuwait and Qatar condemned a series of Iranian strikes targeting diplomatic missions, oil infrastructure, and multiple Middle Eastern nations.

The Government of Kuwait and the government of Qatar have condemned a wave of coordinated attacks by Iran and its allied factions across the Gulf region and the Middle East. These strikes targeted multiple nations, including Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar, while Iranian forces also attacked Saudi Arabian and Emirati oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in at least one death on an Emirati vessel. Additionally, Houthi militia ballistic missiles struck southern Saudi Arabia.

In Kuwait, the aggression targeted border centers and an offshore drilling rig operated by the Kuwait Oil Company, causing casualties and material damage. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait also denounced ongoing attacks on its Consulate General in Basra, Iraq, calling the actions an unacceptable violation of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Aziz Al-Daihani delivered a formal note of protest to the Iraqi government, urging it to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Both Kuwait and Qatar characterized these events as flagrant violations of national sovereignty and international law, specifically citing UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026. Kuwait asserted its right to take necessary measures under international law to protect its stability and security while expressing solidarity with the other affected states.
