European Council Demands Global Halt to Russian Military Aid
The European Council called on all nations to stop providing direct or indirect assistance to Russia, specifically targeting the supply of dual-use goods.
The European Council called on all countries to immediately cease providing direct or indirect assistance to Russia in its war against Ukraine. Following a meeting in Brussels on October 15-16, EU leaders specifically highlighted the need to stop the provision of dual-use goods and components that support Russian military efforts.
Council members strongly condemned the deployment of North Korean military forces and the ongoing military support provided to Russia by Iran, Belarus, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The Council further demanded that Russia and Belarus ensure the safe and unconditional return of all Ukrainian children and civilians who were unlawfully deported.
To ensure long-term accountability, EU leaders affirmed their support for an International Claims Commission and the operationalization of a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression. The Council also pledged continued support for Ukraine's demining, reconstruction, and psychosocial rehabilitation, while extending temporary protection for displaced Ukrainians until March 2028.
