CAE Sells Flightscape to SITA for $500 Million

CAE is selling its Flightscape airline operations software business to SITA for $500 million to refocus on core simulation and training operations.

CAE Inc. announced Monday that it will sell Flightscape, its airline operations software business, to aviation technology firm SITA in a deal valued at $500 million, including debt. Flightscape provides software for crew management, flight planning, and the coordination of in-flight and ground services.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027. The divestiture follows a strategic review initiated five months ago and aligns with efforts by CEO Matthew Bromberg to improve cash flow and reduce costs. These measures previously included the cutting of 280 jobs in April.

CAE intends to use the proceeds from the sale to reinvest in its core defense and civil simulation and training operations.
